The Concrete Jungle
The Concrete Jungle is a fictional Island existent only in The RPG Furies and is not involved with The Common World which is based on the form an actual map or globe and the perspective of Real Life. The Concrete Jungle is an Island existing in the North Pacific Ocean in between Russia and the Hawaiian Islands. The Concrete Jungle is regulated as its own country and has its own laws, which may differ from worldwide or traditional laws.
Physical Geography:
The Concrete Jungle is a large Island roughly the size of 3,000,000 km2 and is located in the North Pacific Ocean between Russia and the Hawaiian Islands. As a result of the placement of the land, the lands regions have different landscapes and climate. The regions closest to Russia tend be cold and filled with mountains while the regions near the Hawaiian Islands tend dry wastelands of desert. Most of the areas in between the two are plains of jungles and forest.
Regions:
The Concrete Jungle is divided into regions which act as provinces. Each region is home to its own landscapes, weather patterns, and inhabits. There are five main regions in the Concrete Jungle, Blue Water, White Cap, Clover-wood, Blackwood, and Death-Valley.
Blue Water:
Blue Water is a coastal city in the South-western region of the Concrete Jungle and is home to the Blue Water Coast and Blue Water Marinas. The city received its name from the rich blue waters that surround the nearby harbours. In Blue Water, the Ocean stretches east to a Coastline as the west forms a cove that separates the ports from the marinas. The ports are on the west of the cove forming docks while the marinas on the east near Blue Water Beach.
Blue Water is also the entry point to the Concrete Jungle as the only way to access the Island is by boat or plane. Large vessels dock at port or planes fly in at the Air Strip. This is the first region travelers or tourist will see. The Shackolford Resort near the coastline is often a popular tourist attraction and is made famous by its boating and fishing.
Blue Water is also responsible for monitoring maintaining the Water Hydro Plant which utilizes the Waterfront and supplies power and electricity throughout the Island. Some regions may resort to using other sources of energy but The Waterfront supplies all regions with power. The City of Blue Water is the largest settlement in the Concrete Jungle and as expanded ever since settlers began exploring the Island.
White Cap:
White Cap is a coldest region in the Concrete Jungle due to the windy terrains made-up of mountains, ice, and snowfall. White-Cap and is located in the Northern and North-western section of the Concrete Jungle and was first inhabited by Snow-Elves who are now believed to be almost extinct. The name White-Cap comes from the various shapes of mountains and hills across the land. The most famous mountain being White-Cap Mountain because the top of mountain is flat rather then pointed.
Since White Cap has the highest level of elevation it is naturally the coldest region as its mountains reach into the clouds. White Cap is known for its hunting, ice fishing, and fur-trade. As a result of the cold temperature plenty of residents stay inside by fire. However, White Cap Mountains is open and regulated for winter activities such as snow-shoeing and skiing. Other sections of White Cap are off-limits due to dangers like avalanches and wild creatures.
White-Cap is also great source to make currency by the free selling of wood and coal. Wood and coal are White-Caps biggest import and they are the resources used to power and heat homes in the region.
Clover-wood:
Clover-wood is a green forest covered region located in the center point of the Concrete Jungle. Clover-wood is the largest of the regions covering most of the land with vegetation and was once home to only Wood Elves. Clover-wood is home to hundreds of spices of trees and is made famous by its Forestry Services. Clover-wood is also known by its rich agricultural land used for farming. Most of the Concrete Jungles crops are grown and harvested in Clover-wood and sold in the Clover-wood Market Place. Tourists and inhabits travel from all over to acquire a taste of Clover-woods fresh and tasty fruits and vegetables.
Blackwood Region:
Blackwood is another forest region of The Concrete Jungle and is located in North-eastern section of the Concrete Jungle. Blackwood is filled with deep forests and swampy marshes and was once home to only Blackwood Elves. Although smaller then Clover-wood, Blackwood has more jungles, wetlands, and a larger population because of the Natives of Concrete Jungle known as the Blackwood Elves. After the war many of the Blackwood Elves remained on their native land.
Blackwood is also home to thicker and stronger wood known as Blackwood. The entire Blackwood Forest is famous for its blackened wood which is used to construct over eighty percent of all building and weapons in the Blackwood Village. The Blackwood Elves are hostile towards the distribution and sharing of their Blackwood bark as it is sacred to them.
Unlike Blue Water and Clover-wood, Blackwood is home to Guild Halls which is another reason why the population is large. People come from all over to train in The Fighter’s Guild or Mages Guild. The Fighter’s Guild also acts as protectors for the Blackwood Village due to the Tribal Cannibalistic Savages known as the Mai-Key-Tee Warriors who occupy the deepest sections of Blackwood Forest.
Blackwood was also once home to the Legendary Disciples of Anarchy. Their Base of Operations is still standing beneath the Church Chapel of the Old Anarchy Memorial. This historical building still stands and is used a Church and a rest stop for travelers. On the outskirts of Blackwood Forest is the Evergreen Maze. The large maze is made from vegetation and stretches far. At the end of the maze is a large Golden Gate, called Guardians Gate. It is guarded by a Minotaur who stops people from entering Death-Valley.
Death-Valley:
Death-Valley is the most dangerous and deadly section of the Concrete Jungle due to the lack of water and its hostile inhabits. Death-Valley used to be a part of Blackwood until Dranzer destroyed it and prevented people from entering. The land now consists of Wastelands and endless fields of dirt and rock. This region is located in the South-eastern section of the Concrete Jungle. Death-Valley is constructed of dry land making it impossible for bodies of water to remain wet. Precipitation is extremely rare as it is only known to rain once or twice a month if even that. When precipitation does occur, water must be gathered within twelve hours after the fall before evaporation. The weather mostly consists of hot and humid days, and dry nights.
Death-Valley received its name from the large valley that runs along Mount Deathmore. The Valley is a death trap as it is home to the Yurlack Gorge and many inhabited caves and tunnels. Death-Valley is also home to the Shrine of Mors, where worshippers of Thánatos gather. Also, under the croft of the Shrine of Mors is The Dark Sanctuary where the Bad Blood Assassins operate.
Black Dranzer’s Castle Fort Dranzer rests within Death-Valley and is surrounded by a Lake of Lava which is constantly flowing from a Volcano not to far way. Just above the Castle is a Green Vortex leading to a red cloud known as the Shadow Realm. As a result of the Vortex the clouds around the Castle’s sky glow red making the sky appear as light even at night. The only source of tourism is exploring Mount Deathmore and spending a safe night’s sleep at the Blood and Bath Inn. Dranzer has prohibited most of his Kingdom from accessing Death-Valley unless they have a special pass-port.
Government:
The Concrete Jungle is governed and dictated by a single monarchy. The monarchy has complete authority in the Kingdom and rules over all the land. The monarchy sets the laws, rules, regulations, and punishments. Each region has a Mayor which provided the region with security and comfort and makes sure the law is followed. Each Mayor and the monarch form the council which meets at least once a month to discuss politics.
Currency:
The Concrete Jungle has its own currency in the form of coin and paper. The Official currency of the Concrete Jungle bares Dranzer’s insignia on it with the caption money is not the true power, I am.
Transportation:
In the past, the only transportation available was horse and buggy. But since time as moved forward and technology has advanced more diverse transportation has become available. However, the only way to access the Concrete Jungle is by boat or plane. However, once on the Island, people can walk, ride a horse, take the train, or drive their own vehicle if they brought it. Motorized vehicles such as cars and buses are mainly found in the Blue Water City. It is a rare sight to see vehicles elsewhere.
Religions:
There are a few religious groups in the Concrete Jungle and the law is open to freedom of religion as long as the law is obeyed and followed during practises. The only law against religion is that no Group or Religious God is able to over throw the monarchy. Punishment is death to do so.
Shrine of Grundle:
The Shrine of Grundle was the first Shrine in the Concrete Jungle as Grundle was the God the Elven worshipped. At one point there where seven shrines, however since the war the number has diminished to three. Grundle is the God of Power-Energy and is the one who controls the balance between good and evil. He is worshipped to keep the world in balance and contains many unknown powers. It is said that his powers can change good to evil and evil to good. This God can be worshipped in the Anarchy Memorial.
Shrine of Mors:
The Shrine of Mors is a shrine used to worship the God of Death named Thánatos. The shrine is associated with a group of Assassins called the Bad Blood Assassins who believe in killing for the good of Thánatos. The will of Thánatos is to simply kill; he does not care how or why but on the deliverance of blood. Those who pray and worship at the Shrine of Mors may have their prayers answered by an Assassin. This God can not be worshipped in the Anarchy Memorial.
Shrine of Vindicare:
The Shrine of Vindicare is a shrine devoted to the holiness and might of Vindicare. The exact location of the shrine is unknown and the people who worship the shrine are unknown. It is said that the shrine is a secret and only shared among true believers. Some say that the Shrine is built from the leftovers of destroyed Grundle Shrines, while others believe the shrine does not exist. This God can be worshipped in the Anarchy Memorial.
History:
The Island was first inhabited by the Elven who were first segregated by Elf Race across the land due to differences in livelihood. As a result of being separated, each Race of Elven reigned over a particular region therefore maintaining peace among each other. Each region was set with its own code and laws some in which differed from others. The Elven Races that were known to inhabit the Concrete Jungle were; Blackwood, Wood Elf, Dark Elf, High Elf, and White Elf.
For many years the Elven lived in peace worshiping Grundle, the God of Power-Energy who focused on the balance between good and evil. As followers of Grundle, the Elven were sworn to protect the Shrines of Grundle and prevent the Seven Coloured Summoning Stones from falling into the wrong hands. The Seven Coloured Summoning Stones were sacred to the Elven has each one contained one of Grundle’s God-like powers. Each stone was stored at one of the Seven Shrines of Grundle throughout the Concrete Jungle. The Stones were said to never be used as the course of life would alternate. The Knights of Credence were the best Elven Warriors and were formed to ensure the protection of Grundle and his Powers.
It wasn’t until Daniel Bishop and Elizabeth Gordon, a married monarch from the United Kingdom came looking for British Expansion, that the Elven all united together to defend the land. This move of invasion caused a massive four year battle between the Disciples of Anarchy and the Elven. The Elves weren’t about to lose their land and every day The Disciples of Anarchy fought against The Knights of Credence to determine the Supreme Ruler of the Concrete Jungle. The stalemate battles lasted a hard struggling four years until the Elven were finally defeated by a means of surrender. The Elven refused to surrender at first, but were forced to when the Knights of Credence lost
Daniel Bishop and Elizabeth Gordon took control of the land and signed a treaty with the Elves. The Elves were permitted to keep control of their settlements but still be governed by the King and Queen. The Elves agreed as long as their ancient traditions and lifestyles were not taken away, for they would rather die than give up everything. It was agreed, and as a part of the long healing process the remaining Knights of Credence were recruited into the Disciples of Anarchy. Now working together, The King and Queen agreed they only wanted the land and with that the Disciples of Anarchy would have to protect the values of the Elven. Grundle and the Seven Coloured Summoning Stones would now be under the protection of the Disciples of Anarchy. The Relics of Anarchy were created to aid them in this quest. The White Knight was given Black Summoning Stone.
Lance Gordon Bishop was to ensure the protection of the Seven Coloured Summoning Stones and as a sign of trust The Anarchy Memorial was built to commend and remember all those who fell during the war. The large sanctuary acted as a Church, and deep with the grounds of the Church housed the powers of Grundle. The building served as an underground base for the Disciples of Anarchy to protect the Seven Coloured Summoning Stones while the above area served as Church and Chapel for worship of Grundle and the other Gods throughout the land. The Disciples of Anarchy not only act as protectors but a messengers and couriers as well. They often travelled far distances to provide for the people in the Concrete Jungle.
It took many years for the change of leadership to be accepted by the Elves but eventually it was accepted as the Treaty was honoured and upheld. It wasn’t until the Dark-Times when Lance Gordon Bishop broke the treaty and become obsessed with obtaining power. Not aware of the power he was dealing with; Lance activated the powers of the Seven Coloured Summoning Stones and became enriched with power. Lance’s power became so strong that the balance between good and evil was broken.
The land began to change and Lance Gordon Bishop became Black Dranzer. His memories slowly began to fade and evil filled his mind. All Dranzer wanted was power. The Black Coloured Summoning Stone gave him that and much more. The Disciples of Anarchy tried to stop him, but some were killed. The remaining Disciples took what stones they could and went into exile. Only one other Disciple stayed behind to join Dranzer. It was the second in command of the Disciples, Super-Strike, who took control of the Purple Summoning Stone and became SyraS.
SyraS assisted Dranzer in taking control of the Concrete Jungle. Dranzer killed the King and Queen and claimed his seat as ruler. Anyone who disagreed or challenged him was destroyed. From there Dranzer completely destroyed a section of the Concrete Jungle and turned into Death-Valley his own playground of destruction. He let this set an example for the rest of the Concrete Jungle; anyone who opposes him will be destroyed. With his memories gone, all Dranzer focused on doing was ruling the Concrete Jungle and searching for the other five coloured summoning stones to obtain complete power. Many people died during this takeover and many became slaves to his will. Many came to live in the Concrete Jungle and enlarge settlements as well as follow Lord Dranzer’s will. Even though Black Dranzer was evil, people liked him as a ruler. As long as they followed his rules he was happy and in turn he would make his people happy. Aside from his evil ambitions he truly cared about providing opportunity for his people and his acquired Kingdom.
Eventually the remaining members of the Disciples of Anarchy came together and formed the New Disciples of Anarchy and recruited new members to join there cause to one day rid the Concrete Jungle of evil and return it to its former glory. The New Disciples of Anarchy became great rivals with Dranzer and the mission to retrieve all the coloured summoning stones would be a challenge for other side. For whoever wins the final battle determines the entire future of the Concrete Jungle.
