“Forget about the damn purse!” Tony shouted after clotheslining his buddy Joey to the ground. He extended his arm and helped Joey back to his feet. “If your Dad could see you now, god bless his soul. What the hell is wrong with ya kid?”
“I’m sorry Uncle T” Joey stuttered. “I just needed the money.”
Tony rested his hand on Joey’s shoulder. Joey being shorter glared up at Tony.
“If you really need money that bad” Tony explained. “Then come to my club. We’ll get you a job. Hell, bring a friend with you. There is more you could be doing instead of this.”
Tony picked up the purse from the ground and waved it in front of Joey’s face. “Go home Joey. Go rest and I’ll see you soon. Whenever you are ready for real work.”
Tony watched as Joey scuttled off in a hurry. Tony shrugged his shoulders. It was hard for him to accept the behavior of youngest today.
Joey knew he needed the job. He had thought about the offer nonstop for a week. He weighed the pros and cons. Although his decision to follow through came down to money.
Joey had brought a friend with him to the club. It was a Strip Club called Bada Bing. Joey had been hanging around the place since he was a child. Joey and his friend sat at a circled table just in front of the main stage. It was a great view to get a look at the girls.
“Let me tell you something my friend.” Joey said looking at one of the dancers on stage. “Life before I met Tony was shit. Before this I was robbing ladies for purses full of pennies compared to what I make now.”
Joey looked back at his friend who was glaring around the place. He appeared to be somewhat interested but was still unsure of his actions. Joey grabbed the bottle on the table and poured himself a glass of red wine. He gave the wine a quick smell snd swooshed the glass around before taking a sip.
“I think you’ll like around here like I do. If we stick together anything is possible.” Joey continued. “Uncle T, he’s done a lot for me. Almost everything since my father disappeared. Shit happens though, you know. Anyways, I hope you’re taking this serious, cause working with these guys ain’t no walk in the park. So what do you say? Are you ready?”
